Meet the author
I’m a 40-year-old geophysicist with a persistent obsession: denoise without deleting truth. By day I interpret Earth-observation data from orbiting sensors; by night I point a telescope up and preserve the faintest structures in my images.
Over the past decade I’ve worked with datasets from professional, remote, and personal observatories and built tools that automate denoising while respecting signal. I do not accept hidden generative priors or corrections that cannot be inspected, measured and compared with the original data. Current quest: making my way through Halton Arp’s Atlas of Peculiar Galaxies.
I develop the free, open-source BB-Astro PixInsight scripts for Hubble image processing, deep-sky astrophotography, cosmic-ray removal, detector-artifact correction and linear-image denoising. The project documents the method, validation examples and current limits of each tool.
